Slivovice Pflaumenbrand

Obstbrand oder Pflaumenbrand, das ist Slivovice (Sliwowitz, Slivovitz), je nach Schreibweise und Region. Ein echter Slivovice hat 45% Alkoholgehalt. Falls Sie Brände finden mit dieser merkwürdigen Zahl 37,5%, hat das rein gar nichts mit Brennkunst oder Genuss zu tun. Es ist ein abstrakter Wert, der willkürlich in Bezug auf Alkoholsteuer festgelegt wurde. Es ist ein Mindestgehalt an Alkohol welches eine Spirituose haben muss um die jeweilige Bezeichnung zu tragen. Bei Vodka ist es das Gleiche. 

Slivovice ist in Tschechien und der Slowakai ein Nationalgetränk, so wie Vodka nach Russland oder Polen gehört. Neben den wenigen großen Marken die Slivovice produzieren, gibt es eine Vielzahl an kleinen Brennereien und natürlich private Brenner. Meist im südöstlichen Teil Tschechiens. 

Slivovice wird in zwei Varianten hergestellt, die sich an der Farbe zeigen. Die goldene Farbe ist eine Fasslagerung. Weißer Slivovice lagert in Flaschen.

Für Original Slivovice Sauce wird "Slivovice Gold 3 Jahre" verwendet.

Besides the few large brands that produce Slivovice, there are numerous small distilleries and, of course, private distillers. Mostly in the southeastern part of the Czech Republic. Slivovice is produced in two varieties, distinguished by their color. The golden color comes from barrel aging. White Slivovice is aged in bottles.
